fresh-baked chocolate loaf cake

Posted on February 6, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a fresh-baked chocolate loaf cake that’s rich, moist, and super easy — perfect for slicing with coffee or dressing up for dessert 🍫🍰

🍫 Fresh-Baked Chocolate Loaf Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra moisture)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup hot water or hot coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)

Optional:

  • ½ cup chocolate chips or chunks
  • Powdered sugar or chocolate glaze for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk sugar, oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  5. Stir in hot water or coffee (batter will be thin — that’s normal).
  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour batter into the loaf pan.
  8. Bake 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

⭐ Tips for the Best Chocolate Loaf

  • Coffee deepens the chocolate flavor without tasting like coffee
  • Don’t overbake — that’s the key to moistness
  • Let it cool before slicing for clean cuts

🍰 Serving Ideas

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Drizzle with warm chocolate ganache
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

If you want, I can also share:

  • A one-bowl version
  • A chocolate-chip overload loaf
  • A lighter or dairy-free version

Just tell me 😄
