🧀🍗 Swiss Chicken Casserole

Creamy, comforting, and incredibly easy — this classic casserole layers tender chicken, melty Swiss cheese, and a savory stuffing topping.


🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6–8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon garlic powder

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.


2️⃣ Layer Chicken & Cheese

  • Arrange chicken breasts in the baking dish.
  • Season lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Place Swiss cheese slices evenly over the chicken.

3️⃣ Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix cream of chicken soup and milk until smooth.
  • Pour evenly over the cheese layer.

4️⃣ Add Stuffing Topping

  • Sprinkle dry stuffing mix over the top.
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly across stuffing.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until golden and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

🍽️ Serve With

  • Steamed green beans
  • Roasted carrots
  • Mashed potatoes or rice
  • Simple side salad

💡 Tips & Variations

✔ Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
✔ Add sautéed mushrooms between chicken and cheese for extra flavor.
✔ Substitute cream of mushroom soup for a different twist.
✔ Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
