🥨🍯 Butter Toffee Pretzels

Sweet, salty, crunchy, and completely addictive — these butter toffee pretzels are perfect for holidays, parties, or snack jars.


🛒 Ingredients

  • 8 cups mini pretzels (twists or snaps)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped pecans or almonds
  • Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips (for drizzle)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.


2️⃣ Arrange Pretzels

Spread pretzels evenly on the baking sheet.


3️⃣ Make the Toffee Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat:

  • Melt butter
  • Stir in brown sugar
  • Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly

Remove from heat and quickly stir in:

  • Vanilla
  • Baking soda (it will foam — that’s normal)

4️⃣ Coat the Pretzels

Pour sauce evenly over pretzels.
Gently stir to coat (work quickly before it sets).


5️⃣ Bake

Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.


6️⃣ Cool & Break Apart

Let cool completely — they’ll harden as they cool.
Break apart clusters.


🍫 Optional Chocolate Drizzle

Once cooled:

  • Melt chocolate chips
  • Drizzle over pretzels
  • Let set before storing

💡 Tips

✔ Don’t skip the baking soda — it creates the light, crisp toffee texture.
✔ Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
✔ Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before cooling for extra sweet-salty contrast.
✔ Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm twist.
