  • Determine immediate dangers and safe spots.

2️⃣ Call for Help Immediately

  • Use your phone to dial emergency services (e.g., 911 in the U.S.).
  • Clearly explain:
    • Your location
    • Type of emergency
    • Number of people involved (even if just yourself)
  • If you can’t speak, many regions allow text or emergency alert features.

Even if help takes time, calling early increases your chances of getting assistance fast.


3️⃣ Take Quick, Protective Action

  • Medical emergency: Administer first aid if trained. Stop bleeding, perform CPR if necessary.
  • Fire: Leave the building immediately; avoid elevators.
  • Natural disasters: Move to a safe area (under a sturdy table, away from windows, or to higher ground in flooding).
  • Lockdown or intruder: Secure doors, hide, and remain silent until help arrives.
