Chicken Roulade is a delicious dish where chicken breasts are flattened, filled with flavorful ingredients, rolled, and cooked until tender and juicy. It’s elegant enough for a dinner party but easy enough for a weeknight meal. 🍗✨
Ingredients (Serves 2–4)
- 2–4 Chicken breasts
- ½ cup Spinach, sautéed
- ¼ cup Cheese
- 2–3 slices Prosciutto (optional)
- Salt and Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- Toothpicks or kitchen twine
Instructions
1. Flatten the Chicken
- Place each chicken breast between plastic wrap and pound to about ½-inch thick.
- Season with salt and pepper.
2. Add Fillings
- Lay spinach, cheese, and prosciutto (if using) on top of each breast.
3. Roll and Secure
- Roll each chicken breast tightly into a log.
- Secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine to hold the filling inside.
4. Cook the Roulade
Oven Method:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet and sear roulades until golden.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake 15–20 minutes, until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
Stovetop Method:
- Sear roulades in a skillet over medium heat, cover, and cook 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally.
5. Serve
- Let rest 5 minutes, remove toothpicks or twine, and slice into rounds.
- Serve with Mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a light salad.
✅ Tips
- Brush with herb butter for extra flavor before baking.
- Substitute spinach with mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for variety.
- Slice carefully to keep the filling intact.
I can also give a quick 20-minute version of chicken roulade cooked entirely on the stovetop if you want a faster option.
