Apple Dumplings

Posted on March 14, 2026 by Admin

Apple dumplings are a classic comfort dessert where whole or sliced apples are wrapped in pastry and baked in a sweet buttery syrup. 🍎πŸ₯Ÿ

Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 2 cans Crescent roll dough
  • 2 medium Green apples, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 can Lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oven

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a baking dish.

2. Wrap the Apples

  • Separate crescent dough into triangles.
  • Place one apple wedge at the wide end and roll it up.
  • Arrange dumplings in the baking dish.

3. Make the Syrup

  • In a saucepan, melt butter.
  • Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until combined.

4. Assemble

  • Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  • Carefully pour the soda around the edges of the dish (not directly on top).

5. Bake

Bake for 35–40 minutes until the dumplings are golden and the sauce is bubbling.

Serve

Serve warm with:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • or whipped cream.

βœ… Tip: The soda reacts with the sugar and butter to create a rich caramel-like sauce while baking.

If you want, I can also show you the old-fashioned Amish apple dumplings recipe made from scratch pastryβ€”it tastes even better than the quick version. 🍎πŸ₯§
