homemade flatbreads

Flatbread is soft, quick to make, and perfect for wraps, dipping, or serving with many meals. πŸ«“


Ingredients (Makes 6–8)

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • ΒΎ cup Warm water

Optional:

  • 2 tbsp Plain yogurt for softer flatbread

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  • Add olive oil and warm water (and yogurt if using).
  • Mix until a soft dough forms.

2. Knead

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let it rest 20–30 minutes.

3. Divide & Roll

  • Divide dough into 6–8 balls.
  • Roll each ball into a thin circle or oval.

4. Cook

  • Heat a skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each flatbread 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and light brown spots appear.

5. Keep Warm

  • Stack cooked flatbreads and cover with a towel to keep them soft.

Serving Ideas

Flatbreads are great with:

  • Hummus
  • Grilled chicken
  • Falafel
