Crispy Cheesy Potato Stacks

Posted on March 16, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious way to make Crispy Cheesy Potato Stacks—perfect as a side dish or snack. 🥔🧀

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional: thyme, rosemary, or parsley)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set oven to 200°C / 400°F.
    • Grease a muffin tin or a baking dish lightly with oil or butter.
  2. Prepare the potatoes
    • Slice potatoes thinly (a mandoline works best).
    • Toss slices with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stack the potatoes
    • In each muffin cup or in a layered baking dish, stack potato slices about 4–5 slices high.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese between layers or on top.
    • Drizzle melted butter over the stacks.
  4. Bake
    • Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and tops are golden brown.
    • Optionally, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispiness.
  5. Garnish and Serve
    • Sprinkle with fresh herbs for color and flavor.
    • Serve hot as a side dish or snack.

Tips for Extra Crispy Potato Stacks

  • Use starchy potatoes like Russets for better crispiness.
  • Keep potato slices uniformly thin for even cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—allow heat to circulate.

If you want, I can also give a shortcut method using just 3 ingredients to make super crispy, cheesy potato stacks in under 25 minutes.
