Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Cheddar Drop Biscuits—crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside!


🧀 Cheddar Drop Biscuits

Ingredients (Makes 8–10 biscuits)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Set to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cut in Butter
    • Add cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fork to mix until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  4. Add Cheese and Milk
    • Stir in cheddar cheese.
    • Add milk gradually until the dough comes together—it should be soft but not sticky.
  5. Drop the Biscuits
    • Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet (about 2 inches apart).
  6. Bake
    • Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown on top.
  7. Serve Warm
    • Perfect with butter, soups, or chili.

  • Extra cheesy: Mix in a little Parmesan for a sharper flavor.
  • Add herbs: Chopped chives, parsley, or rosemary make them even more flavorful.
  • Spicy twist: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika.

You can use self-rising flour and skip the baking powder and salt for an even faster version.
