Posted on March 18, 2026 by Admin

A cream puff is a light, airy pastry made from choux dough and filled with sweet cream—crispy on the outside and soft inside 😋

🍰 What is a Cream Puff?

A classic cream puff (also called choux à la crème) is made by baking a special dough that puffs up hollow, then filling it with:

  • Whipped cream
  • Custard (pastry cream)
  • Sometimes ice cream

🧾 Simple Cream Puff Recipe

Ingredients:

For the dough (choux pastry):

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs

For the filling:

  • 1 cup whipped cream or custard
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • Optional: vanilla

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the dough

  • Boil water + butter
  • Add flour, stir until a smooth dough forms
  • Let it cool slightly, then mix in eggs one by one

2. Shape & bake

  • Pipe or spoon small balls onto a tray
  • Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20–25 minutes
  • They will puff up and become golden

3. Fill them

  • Let them cool
  • Cut or poke a hole and fill with cream or custard

😍 Variations

  • Chocolate cream puffs 🍫
  • Coffee-flavored filling ☕
  • Topped with melted chocolate or powdered sugar

⚠️ Tips for success

  • Don’t open the oven early → they may collapse
  • Bake until fully golden and dry
  • Cool completely before filling
