  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley or chives for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Sauté vegetables

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat
  • Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic → sauté until soft (5–7 minutes)

2. Make the roux

  • Sprinkle in flour → stir continuously for 2–3 minutes
  • Cook until lightly golden

3. Add stock

  • Slowly pour in seafood stock while whisking to prevent lumps
  • Bring to a gentle simmer → cook 5–10 minutes until slightly thickened

4. Add cream and spices

  • Stir in heavy cream, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper
  • Simmer another 5 minutes

5. Add seafood

  • Gently fold in shrimp and crab meat
  • Heat through for 3–4 minutes (do not overcook seafood)

6. Serve

  • Ladle into bowls
  • Garnish with parsley or chives
  • Serve with crusty bread or crackers

  • For extra depth, roast shrimp shells and simmer in stock for 20–30 minutes before straining
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for lighter bisque
