🧾 Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • Drain excess fat

2. Add vegetables

  • Add chopped onion and bell pepper

3. Add beans & tomatoes

  • Stir in kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce

4. Season

  • Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper
  • Mix well

5. Simmer

  • Reduce heat to low
  • Cover and simmer 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • Longer simmer → richer flavor

6. Serve

  • Serve hot with shredded cheese, crackers, or cornbread

  • For thicker chili: simmer uncovered for last 10–15 minutes
  • For extra flavor: add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a teaspoon of brown sugar
