Here are the normal blood pressure values according to age.

Posted on March 21, 2026 by Admin

Blood pressure naturally changes as we age, but there are general guidelines for what’s considered normal. These numbers are given as systolic/diastolic (mmHg).

Normal Blood Pressure by Age

Age Group Normal BP Range (Systolic / Diastolic)
Children (6–12) 90–120 / 60–80
Teenagers (13–19) 100–130 / 65–85
Adults (20–39) 110–135 / 70–85
Adults (40–59) 115–140 / 75–90
Adults 60+ 120–145 / 75–90

⚠️ Key Points

  • Below 90/60 → May be considered low blood pressure (hypotension).
  • Above 140/90 → High blood pressure (hypertension); risk increases with age.
  • Blood pressure can vary based on activity, stress, diet, and medication.

✅ Tips to Maintain Healthy Blood Pressure

  1. Eat a balanced diet (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low salt).
  2. Stay physically active (walking, swimming, light strength training).
  3. Maintain a healthy weight.
  4. Limit alcohol and smoking.
  5. Monitor BP regularly, especially after age 40.

If you want, I can make a visual chart showing blood pressure ranges by age so it’s easier to check where you fall at a glance.
