Here’s a classic and elegant chicken roulade recipe — it looks fancy but is surprisingly easy to make at home.


🍗 Chicken Roulade (Stuffed Chicken Roll)

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 2 large chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or lightly sautéed)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 2–3 tablespoons cream cheese (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Kitchen twine or toothpicks

🥣 Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

  • Slice each breast horizontally (butterfly style).
  • Place between plastic wrap and gently pound to an even thickness.

2. Season

  • Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

3. Add filling

  • Spread a thin layer of cream cheese (optional).
  • Add spinach and shredded cheese evenly over the surface.

4. Roll and secure

  • Roll the chicken tightly like a log.
  • Secure with toothpicks or tie with kitchen twine.

5. Sear

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Sear the roulades for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.

6. Bake

  • Transfer to a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F).
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until fully cooked.

7. Rest and slice

  • Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice into rounds.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
  • Drizzle with a light cream or garlic sauce for extra flavor.

💡 Tips

  • You can switch fillings: mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, or herbs.
  • For a crispy outside, coat lightly in breadcrumbs before searing.
