Posted on April 3, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, cheesy, crowd-pleasing recipe for Meatballs and Cheese—perfect as a main dish, appetizer, or sandwich filling.

🧆🧀 Meatballs and Cheese

🥣 Ingredients

For the meatballs:

  • 500g ground beef (or beef + chicken mix)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

For the sauce & cheese:

  • 2 cups tomato or marinara sauce
  • 1–1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: grated parmesan

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Meatballs

  • In a bowl, mix all meatball ingredients until combined.
  • Roll into small balls (about golf-ball size).

2️⃣ Cook the Meatballs

Option A – Pan:

  • Heat oil and brown meatballs on all sides (5–7 minutes).

Option B – Oven:

  • Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15–18 minutes.

3️⃣ Add Sauce

  • Pour tomato sauce over meatballs in a pan or baking dish.
  • Simmer for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.

4️⃣ Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle mozzarella (and parmesan if using) on top.
  • Cover and let it melt, or bake 5–10 minutes until bubbly.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Over pasta or spaghetti
  • In a sandwich (meatball sub)
  • With rice or mashed potatoes
  • As a party appetizer with toothpicks

💡 Tips

  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for heat
  • Use a mix of meats for juicier texture
  • Don’t overmix the meat—it keeps meatballs tender

If you want, I can give you a quick 20-minute version or a low-carb baked meatball recipe with cheese inside (stuffed meatballs).
