Creamy Potato Hamburger Soup

Posted on April 3, 2026 by Admin

Creamy Potato Hamburger Soup is a rich, comforting one-pot meal—perfect when you want something hearty, filling, and easy to make 🍲

🥔 Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef (hamburger meat)
  • 3–4 medium potatoes (peeled & diced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup cream (optional, for extra richness)
  • 2–3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: carrots, corn, or peas

🔥 How to Make It

  1. Cook the beef
In a large pot, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. Sauté aromatics
In the same pot, melt butter and sauté onion + garlic until soft.
  3. Add veggies & broth
Add potatoes (and any extra veggies). Pour in beef broth and simmer 10–15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  4. Make it creamy
In a small bowl, mix flour with milk (to avoid lumps), then add it to the soup. Stir well.
  5. Combine everything
Add cooked beef back in. Stir in cream and cheese.
  6. Simmer & season
Cook for another 5–10 minutes until thick and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste.

😋 Tips

  • Mash a few potatoes in the pot for a thicker texture.
  • Add chili flakes or black pepper for a slight kick.
  • Swap cream with more milk for a lighter version.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve with toasted bread or garlic bread
  • Top with extra cheese or fresh herbs
  • A side salad balances the richness nicely

If you want, I can give you a slow cooker version, a budget-friendly version, or a high-protein gym version of this soup 👍
