🥔🍄 Cream of Mushroom Soup Over Sliced Potatoes

This is a simple, creamy, comfort-food classic—rich, hearty, and perfect as a side or main dish.


🥄 Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion, sliced (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: shredded cheese or garlic powder

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat

  • Oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Lightly grease a baking dish

2. Layer the potatoes

  • Arrange half the sliced potatoes in the dish
  • Add onions if using
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper
  • Add remaining potatoes on top

3. Make the sauce

  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth

4. Pour & cover

  • Pour the mixture evenly over the potatoes
  • Cover with foil

5. Bake

  • Bake covered for 45 minutes
  • Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until tender and slightly golden

6. Optional finish

  • Sprinkle cheese on top and bake 5 more minutes until melted

  • Slice potatoes thin so they cook evenly
  • Add cooked ground beef or ham for a full meal
  • Let it rest 5–10 minutes before serving to thicken
