Instructions

  1. Brown the meat (optional but adds flavor)
    • Cook ground beef or sausage in a skillet until browned
    • Drain excess fat
  2. Layer ingredients in slow cooker
    • Start with onions and garlic at the bottom
    • Add potatoes and carrots
    • Top with cabbage wedges
    • Pour diced tomatoes and broth over everything
    • Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs
  3. Cook
    • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours
    • Cabbage should be tender but not mushy
  4. Serve
    • Scoop into bowls with some of the broth
