Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Here’s a Crispy Fried Mushrooms recipe—golden on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfect as an appetizer or snack 🍄✨


🍄 Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 12 oz (340 g) button or cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (optional but delicious)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Prep mushrooms
    • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth and pat completely dry.
    • Leave whole or cut in half if large.
  2. Set up dredging station
    • Bowl 1: flour + salt & pepper
    • Bowl 2: beaten eggs
    • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika
  3. Coat mushrooms
    • Dredge mushrooms in flour → egg → breadcrumb mixture.
    • Press gently to coat well.
  4. Fry
    • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry mushrooms in batches 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
    • Remove to paper towels to drain.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with ranch, garlic aioli, or marinara sauce.

🌟 Tips & Variations

  • Extra crispy: Double-dip in egg and breadcrumbs
  • Spicy: Add cayenne or chili flakes to breadcrumbs
  • Air fryer: Spray coated mushrooms with oil and air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway
  • Gluten-free: Use gluten-free flour and crumbs
