Bubble Up Chicken Casserole

Posted on October 11, 2025 by Admin
Here’s a comforting, easy-to-make Bubble Up Chicken Casserole — a one-dish meal that combines tender chicken, gooey cheese, creamy sauce, and soft dinner rolls that “bubble up” during baking. It’s perfect for busy weeknights!

🍲 Bubble Up Chicken Casserole

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed (rotisserie chicken works great!)

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)

  • 1 can (16 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (or similar dinner rolls)

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  3. Stir in the cooked chicken, diced onion (if using), and cheddar cheese.

  4. Cut the biscuit dough into quarters or smaller pieces, then gently fold into the chicken mixture.

  5. Spread the entire mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.

  6. Top with extra shredded cheese if desired.

  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and the casserole is bubbly and golden on top.

  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions if you like.

Tips:

  • You can swap the cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom or celery for a different flavor.

  • Add veggies like peas, corn, or chopped broccoli for more nutrition.

  • Use cooked turkey instead of chicken for a holiday twist.
