Here’s a classic, hearty slow-cooker chili that’s rich, flavorful, and easy.


Easy Crockpot Chili

Ingredients (serves 6–8)

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained & rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained & rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp cayenne (optional, for heat)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat
    • In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion until browned.
    • Drain excess fat and add garlic; cook 30 seconds.
  2. Add to crockpot
    • Transfer meat mixture to the slow cooker.
    • Add all remaining ingredients and stir well.
  3. Slow cook
    • LOW: 6–8 hours
    • HIGH: 3–4 hours
  4. Taste & adjust
    • Adjust seasoning before serving.

Optional Add-Ins

  • 🌶️ Diced jalapeños or green chilies
  • 🍫 1–2 tsp cocoa powder (deepens flavor — trust me)
  • 🌽 Corn for sweetness
  • 🍺 Splash of beer or coffee for richness

Best Toppings

  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Chopped green onions
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Cornbread or tortilla chips on the side
