Salisbury Steak Meatballs

Posted on March 14, 2026 by Admin

Salisbury steak meatballs are a comforting twist on classic Salisbury steak—tender meatballs simmered in a rich onion-mushroom gravy. 🍖🍄

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • ½ cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • Salt and Black pepper

Gravy

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

1. Make the Meatballs

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs.

2. Brown the Meatballs

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  • Remove and set aside.

3. Cook the Gravy

  • In the same pan, melt butter.
  • Add onions and mushrooms and cook until softened.

4. Simmer

  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Return meatballs to the pan and simmer 10–12 minutes.

5. Thicken the Sauce

  • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the gravy thickens.

Serve With

These meatballs are delicious over:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Egg noodles
  • Rice

✅ Tip: Let the meatballs simmer slowly in the gravy so they absorb the flavor and become extra tender.

If you want, I can also show you a slow-cooker Salisbury steak meatballs version that practically cooks itself. 🍲
