Hamburger Potato Casserole

Hamburger Potato Casserole is a hearty comfort dish made with layers of ground beef, sliced potatoes, creamy sauce, and cheese baked until tender and bubbly. 🥔🍖🧀


Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 4 medium Potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 1 can Cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1½ cups Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Salt and Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Butter (for greasing dish)

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a casserole dish with butter.

2. Cook the Beef

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until the beef is browned.
  • Drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

3. Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.

4. Layer the Casserole

  1. Place a layer of sliced potatoes in the dish.
  2. Add a layer of the beef mixture.
  3. Spoon some of the soup mixture over it.
  4. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.

5. Bake

  • Cover with foil and bake 45–50 minutes, until potatoes are tender.

6. Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake 10 more minutes uncovered until melted.

Serve

Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving so the casserole sets.

Great with:

  • Green salad
  • Steamed vegetables
