Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild, hot, or sage)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp works best)

  • 2 cups Bisquick (or similar baking mix)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  2. In a large bowl, mix sausage and cream cheese until well combined.

  3. Add cheddar, Bisquick, and seasonings. Mix until a thick dough forms.

  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and place 1–2 inches apart on the baking sheet.

  5. Bake 18–22 minutes, until golden and cooked through.

  6. Drain briefly on paper towels if needed.

Tips for Best Results

  • For crispier bottoms, bake on a rack set over the pan

Variations

  • 🌶️ Spicy: add jalapeños or pepper jack cheese

  • 🧄 Garlic lovers: add 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 🥓 Bacon: mix in cooked crumbled bacon

  • 🌿 Keto-friendly: replace Bisquick with almond flour (1½ cups)
