Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients (makes ~8 rolls)

  • 4–6 slices of ham
  • 4–6 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Dijon mustard or honey mustard for a flavor kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the puff pastry
    • Roll the sheet slightly on a floured surface to smooth creases.
    • If you like, spread a thin layer of mustard on the pastry.
  3. Layer ham and cheese
    • Place ham slices evenly over the pastry.
    • Add cheese slices on top.
  4. Roll it up
    • Starting from one side, roll the pastry tightly into a log.
    • Pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Slice the roll
    • Cut the log into 1–2 inch slices.
    • Place slices cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Add egg wash
    • Beat the egg and brush over the tops for a golden, glossy finish.
  7. Bake
    • Bake for 15–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Serve

  • Cheese choice: Gruyère or mozzarella melts beautifully.
  • Extra flavor: Sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top before baking.
