Amish-style glazed carrots

Posted on March 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious Amish-Style Glazed Carrots recipe—sweet, buttery, and perfect as a side dish. 🥕

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar (or honey for a lighter glaze)
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • Optional: pinch of Ground Cinnamon or Nutmeg for warmth

Instructions

  1. Place the carrots in a medium saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until just tender, about 5–8 minutes. Drain.
  2. In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add brown sugar (or honey) and stir until it melts and starts to bubble.
  4. Return the carrots to the pan, tossing to coat them in the glaze.
  5. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until carrots are glossy and tender.
  6. Season with salt and optional spices, then serve warm.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Orange Juice or a sprinkle of Chopped Parsley before serving.
  • Carrots can also be roasted in the oven with the same glaze for a slightly caramelized effect.

✅ Serving idea:
These Amish-style glazed carrots pair wonderfully with Roast Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, or a hearty holiday meal.

If you want, I can also share a slow-cooker version that keeps the carrots tender and perfectly glazed with zero stirring.
