Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 2 cups apples, peeled & diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Bread Batter

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk

Cinnamon Swirl

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare apples:
    Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Make batter:
    Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  4. Layer the bread:
    • Spread half the batter into pan
    • Add half the apples
    • Sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar
    • Repeat layers
    • Lightly swirl with a knife
  5. Bake:
    Bake 55–65 minutes, tenting with foil if top browns too fast.
    Toothpick should come out mostly clean.
  6. Glaze:
    Cool 10 minutes, then drizzle glaze over warm bread.
