Here’s a perfect baked potato—crispy skin, fluffy inside 🥔✨


🥔 Classic Baked Potato

Ingredients

  • Large russet potatoes
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Salt

Oven Method (Best Texture)

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash & dry potatoes well.
  3. Pierce each potato 3–4 times with a fork.
  4. Rub lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Place directly on the oven rack (or on a baking sheet).
  6. Bake 45–60 minutes, until skin is crisp and a fork slides in easily.

Make It Extra Fluffy

  • Slice a cross on top
  • Gently squeeze ends to open
  • Add butter immediately so it melts inside

🧀 Topping Ideas

  • Butter + sour cream
  • Cheddar cheese + chives
  • Bacon bits
  • Greek yogurt + herbs
  • Chili or broccoli & cheese

⚡ Quick Microwave + Oven Hack

  1. Microwave 5–7 minutes (flip halfway)
  2. Finish in oven 10–15 minutes at 425°F

🧠 Tip

  • Russet potatoes are best because of their high starch content
  • Don’t wrap in foil while baking—this steams the skin instead of crisping it
