cheesy ham and egg baked sandwiches

Posted on February 25, 2026 by Admin

Cheesy ham and egg baked sandwiches are warm, melty, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner. 🥪🧀🍳

Here’s a simple, crowd-pleasing version:

🥪 Ingredients (Makes 4 sandwiches)

  • 4 sandwich rolls or thick bread slices
  • 4–6 slices ham
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: chopped chives or parsley

🔥 How to Make Them

1️⃣ Prep

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice rolls in half (or lightly hollow out the tops if using round rolls).
  • Lightly butter the inside of the bread.

2️⃣ Assemble

  • Layer ham on the bottom half.
  • Crack one egg on top of the ham (you can scramble eggs first if you prefer fully set eggs).
  • Sprinkle generously with cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place top half of bread on (optional for open-faced style).

3️⃣ Bake

  • Place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake 12–18 minutes, depending on how runny you like the yolk.
    • Shorter time = softer yolk
    • Longer time = fully set

🧀 Extra Flavor Ideas

  • Add sautéed onions or spinach
  • Spread Dijon mustard inside the bread
  • Brush tops with melted butter + garlic powder before baking

💡 Make-Ahead Tip

For meal prep:

  • Scramble eggs first
  • Assemble fully
  • Wrap in foil and refrigerate
  • Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes

If you’d like, I can also give you a sheet-pan version that feeds a crowd or a Hawaiian roll slider version that’s party-perfect.
