Posted on March 24, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious, crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside recipe for cheesy mashed potato puffs—perfect as a snack, side dish, or party appetizer:

🧀🥔 Cheesy Mashed Potato Puffs

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (cold works best)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg
  • 2–3 tbsp flour (or breadcrumbs)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Mix

  • In a bowl, combine:
    • Mashed potatoes
    • Cheese
    • Egg
    • Flour/breadcrumbs
    • Seasoning
  • Mix until a thick, moldable dough forms

2️⃣ Shape

  • Roll into small balls or scoop into mini muffin molds

3️⃣ Bake

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Place on a greased tray or muffin tin
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy

🔥 Optional: Fry Version

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Fry until golden brown on all sides for extra crispiness

😋 Serving Ideas

  • Serve with ketchup, garlic mayo, or spicy dip
  • Great alongside grilled chicken or as a party snack

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Cold mashed potatoes hold shape better
  • Add a little extra cheese inside each ball for a gooey center
  • Use a muffin tin for evenly shaped puffs

⚖️ Quick Note

Potatoes provide energy and potassium, while cheese adds protein and flavor—making this a comfort food with a satisfying balance.

If you want, I can give you a healthier air-fryer version or a low-calorie version of these potato puffs.
