cinnamon rolls

Nothing beats warm, soft cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven—sweet, gooey, and full of cinnamon flavor 😋


🍩 Classic Cinnamon Rolls (Soft & Fluffy)

🧾 Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp yeast (1 packet)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup butter (melted)
  • 1 egg

For the filling:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup soft butter

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  • Mix warm milk + yeast + a little sugar → let sit 5–10 min
  • Add butter, egg, remaining sugar, salt, and flour
  • Knead until soft dough forms (about 5–8 minutes)

2. Let it rise

  • Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled

3. Roll & fill

  • Roll dough into a rectangle
  • Spread butter
  • Sprinkle cinnamon + brown sugar evenly

4. Shape rolls

  • Roll tightly into a log
  • Cut into 9–12 rolls
  • Place in a greased baking dish

5. Second rise

  • Let rise again for 20–30 minutes

6. Bake

  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes

7. Glaze

  • Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls

🔥 Tips for Perfect Rolls

  • Don’t overheat milk—it can kill the yeast
  • Use soft butter for easy spreading
  • Bake until just golden (overbaking = dry rolls)

  • Cream cheese frosting instead of glaze
  • Add nuts or raisins
  • Make overnight (refrigerate after shaping)
