Creamy seafood salad with imitation crab

Posted on December 2, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a delicious, creamy seafood salad using imitation crab — perfect for sandwiches, wraps, crackers, or a light meal!

🦀 Creamy Seafood Salad (with Imitation Crab)

Serves 4–6

⭐ Ingredients

  • 1 lb imitation crab (flake-style or sticks), roughly chopped

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

  • 1–2 stalks celery, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced

  • 2 tbsp fresh dill OR 1 tsp dried dill

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional add-ins:

    • ½ cup small cooked shrimp

    • 1 tbsp sweet relish

    • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

    • ¼ cup diced cucumber

    • Paprika for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the crab

  • Chop imitation crab into bite-size pieces.

  • If using sticks, pull them apart lightly by hand for a “shredded” texture.

2. Mix the dressing

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Mayonnaise

  • Sour cream (if using)

  • Lemon juice

  • Old Bay

  • Dill

  • Salt & pepper

Stir until smooth.

3. Add veggies & crab

Fold in:

  • Celery

  • Onion

  • Imitation crab (and shrimp if adding)

Mix gently so the crab doesn’t break up too much.

4. Chill

Refrigerate for 30 minutes to let flavors blend.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

💡 How to Serve

  • On buttery crackers

  • In a croissant or soft roll

  • Wrapped in lettuce leaves

  • As a topping for a green salad

  • In a tortilla wrap with shredded lettuce

⭐ Tips

  • Add more mayo if you want a creamier texture.

  • Old Bay gives it classic seafood flavor — don’t skip!

  • For a lighter version, use half mayo and half Greek yogurt.

If you want, I can give you a Hawaiian-style crab salad, a spicy version, or a keto-friendly version.
