freshly baked drop biscuits

Posted on April 3, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, fluffy, and buttery recipe for freshly baked drop biscuits—perfect for breakfast, soup, or just a snack! 🥖✨

🥣 Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tsp lemon juice)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F)
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

3. Cut in Butter

  • Use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix butter into flour until it resembles coarse crumbs

4. Add Buttermilk

  • Pour in buttermilk
  • Stir gently until just combined—the dough will be sticky

5. Drop the Biscuits

  • Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each

6. Bake

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown on top
  • Optional: brush tops with melted butter immediately after baking

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overmix—overworking makes biscuits tough
  • Add shredded cheese, herbs, or garlic for extra flavor
  • Serve warm with jam, honey, or gravy

Soft inside, golden outside, and ready in under 30 minutes—truly comfort food at its finest 😍

If you want, I can also share a quick 5-minute microwave version for super fast biscuits.
