freshly made chocolate fudge cut into small squares

Posted on December 9, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a classic, rich, freshly made chocolate fudge recipe that cuts beautifully into smooth little squares — perfect for gifting, sharing, or indulging. 🍫✨

🍫 Smooth & Creamy Chocolate Fudge (No-Fail Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1–2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional add-ins:

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Flaky sea salt on top
  • Mini marshmallows (for rocky road)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the pan

Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy lifting.
Lightly grease the parchment.

2. Melt the chocolate mixture

In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine:

  • chocolate chips
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • butter
  • salt

Stir constantly until everything is melted, smooth, and glossy.

👉 Don’t rush this — low and slow prevents grainy fudge.

3. Add vanilla (and nuts if using)

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Fold in nuts if desired.

4. Spread into the pan

Pour fudge into the prepared dish.
Smooth the top with a spatula.

Add sea salt or toppings now if you want.

5. Chill

Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until firm.

6. Cut into Perfect Squares

Lift the fudge out using the parchment.
Use a sharp knife, warmed under hot water and dried, to slice clean, even squares.

🍫 Storage

  • Fridge: 2–3 weeks, airtight
  • Freezer: up to 3 months
(Just thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.)
