fried bologna and cheese sandwich

Posted on December 28, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a classic fried bologna and cheese sandwich—crispy edges, melty cheese, and pure comfort 🥪🔥

Fried Bologna & Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bologna

  • 1–2 slices cheese (American is classic; cheddar works too)

  • 2 slices bread (white bread is traditional)

  • Butter or mayonnaise (for grilling)

Instructions

  1. Prep the bologna
Cut 3–4 small slits around the edge of each bologna slice.
    (Prevents it from curling.)

  2. Fry the bologna
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Fry bologna until browned and slightly crispy on both sides.

  3. Assemble the sandwich
Butter (or mayo) the outside of the bread.
Place cheese on one slice, add hot bologna, top with remaining cheese if using.

  4. Grill
Cook in the skillet until bread is golden and cheese is melted, flipping once.

  5. Serve hot
    Slice and enjoy immediately.

Optional add-ons (Southern favorites)

  • Mustard or mayo inside

  • Fried onions

  • Tomato slices

  • Pickles

  • A fried egg (breakfast-style)

Tips

  • Medium heat = crispy bologna, melty cheese

  • American cheese melts best

  • Mayo on the outside gives extra golden crust

If you want, I can share:
