Grilled cheese sandwich

Posted on February 6, 2026 by Admin

Ah yes 😋 the ultimate comfort food — crispy, buttery, and melty inside. Here’s a simple yet perfectly golden grilled cheese sandwich recipe.

🥪 Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough — your choice)
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or a melty combo like mozzarella + cheddar)
  • 1–2 tbsp butter, softened

Optional:

  • Tomato slices
  • Bacon strips
  • Caramelized onions
  • A sprinkle of herbs (thyme or oregano)

Instructions

1. Prep the Bread

  • Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice.
  • The buttered side will face the skillet for a golden crust.

2. Assemble the Sandwich

  • Place cheese (and any optional fillings) between the unbuttered sides of the bread.
  • Press lightly.

3. Cook

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-low heat.
  2. Place sandwich buttered side down.
  3. Cook 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip carefully and cook the other side 3–4 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crisp.

Tip: Cover the pan with a lid for 1–2 minutes to help cheese melt without burning bread.

4. Serve

  • Slice diagonally for classic presentation.
  • Serve immediately with tomato soup, pickles, or fries.

⭐ Tips for the Best Grilled Cheese

  • Low and slow cooking ensures the cheese melts perfectly.
  • Mix cheeses for extra flavor and gooeyness.
  • Use slightly thicker slices of bread to hold fillings without getting soggy.
