Posted on March 15, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious homemade pickled beets recipe you can make at home. 🥄🍂

Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium Beets, washed and peeled
  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Optional spices: 1–2 Cloves, 1–2 Allspice berries, 1 small Cinnamon stick

Instructions

1. Cook the beets

  • Place peeled beets in a pot of water and boil until tender (about 25–30 minutes).
  • Drain and let cool slightly, then slice into ½-inch rounds.

2. Prepare the pickling liquid

  • In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and optional spices.
  • Bring to a gentle boil until sugar dissolves.

3. Combine

  • Place beet slices in a sterilized jar.
  • Pour the hot pickling liquid over the beets, covering them completely.

4. Cool and store

  • Let the jar cool to room temperature.
  • Seal and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before eating (flavors improve after 3–5 days).

Tips for best results

  • Use fresh, firm beets for the best texture.
  • Adjust sugar to taste if you like sweeter or tangier pickles.
  • Pickled beets keep in the fridge for up to 3–4 weeks.

✅ Optional serving ideas:

  • Add to salads for color and tang
  • Serve with roast meats
  • Use as a topping for sandwiches or grain bowls

If you want, I can also give you a quick 10-minute microwave version for pickled beets that’s almost as tasty.
