Honey Garlic Ribs

Ingredients (Serves 4)

Ribs

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • Salt and black pepper

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Oven Method (Fall-Off-the-Bone)

  1. Prep Ribs
    Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
    Remove membrane from ribs. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Bake Low & Slow
    Wrap ribs tightly in foil.
    Bake 2½–3 hours until tender.
  3. Make Sauce
    In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, ginger, and chili flakes.
    Simmer 5–7 minutes.
    Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  4. Glaze & Broil
    Unwrap ribs and place on a lined baking sheet.
    Brush generously with sauce.
    Broil 3–5 minutes, flipping once, until sticky and caramelized.

Slow Cooker Method (Super Easy)

  1. Place seasoned ribs in slow cooker (cut to fit).
  2. Pour sauce (without cornstarch) over ribs.
  3. Cook:
    • LOW: 6–7 hours
    • HIGH: 3–4 hours
  4. Transfer ribs to baking sheet, brush with thickened sauce, and broil 3–5 minutes.

Tips for Best Ribs

  • Remove the membrane for tenderness
  • Low heat = juicy ribs
  • Broiling at the end gives that sticky restaurant finish
  • Use foil or parchment for easy cleanup
