How to clean the floors in your home with just 3 ingredients: they’ve never been so clean

Posted on March 11, 2026 by Admin

You can clean and refresh most household floors using three simple ingredients that many people already have at home. 🧹

The 3 ingredients

  • White Vinegar – helps break down dirt, grease, and odors
  • Sodium Bicarbonate – gently lifts grime and neutralizes smells
  • Lemon – adds freshness and mild antibacterial properties

How to make the cleaning solution

  1. Fill a bucket with warm water.
  2. Add 1 cup of white vinegar.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda (it will fizz briefly).
  4. Squeeze the juice of ½ lemon into the bucket.
  5. Mix gently.

How to clean your floors

  1. Dip a mop into the solution and wring it out well.
  2. Mop the floor normally, working from one corner toward the exit.
  3. For sticky spots, sprinkle a little baking soda directly on the area and scrub lightly.
  4. Let the floor air-dry—no rinsing is usually needed.

What floors it works best on

✔ Tile
✔ Vinyl
✔ Sealed laminate
✔ Sealed hardwood (use less vinegar)

⚠️ Avoid using vinegar on natural stone like Marble or Granite, because the acid can damage the surface.

✅ Bonus tip:
Adding a few drops of Essential Oil (like lavender or lemon) can leave your house smelling fresh.
