🌶 HUGE Pot of Homemade Chili

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs ground beef (or turkey)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 3 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained
  • 2 (15 oz) cans black beans, drained
  • 2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½–1 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1–2 cups beef broth (for desired thickness)

Optional add-ins:

  • Corn
  • Jalapeños
  • A splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 square dark chocolate (deepens flavor!)

  1. Heat oil in a large stockpot.
  2. Brown the meat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add onions, peppers, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  4. Stir in spices and cook 1 minute to bloom flavors.
  5. Add tomatoes, beans, and broth.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low.
  7. Simmer uncovered 45–90 minutes (longer = better flavor). Stir occasionally.
