🧾 Ingredients (8–10 servings)

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup plain yogurt or milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 180°C (350°F)
    • Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
  3. Mix wet ingredients
    • In another bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, oil, yogurt, and vanilla until smooth
  4. Combine
    • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture
    • Batter should be thick but pourable
  5. Add apples
    • Fold sliced apples gently into the batter, reserving a few slices for the top
  6. Bake
    • Pour batter into prepared pan
    • Arrange reserved apple slices on top
    • Bake 40–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean
  7. Cool & Serve
    • Let cool for 10–15 minutes
    • Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired
