Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Italian Sub Squares—perfect as a party appetizer, snack, or quick lunch.

🥪 Ingredients (Makes ~12 squares)

  • 1 sheet refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
  • 8 oz (225 g) sliced deli meats (ham, salami, pepperoni)
  • 6 oz (170 g) sliced cheese (provolone or mozzarella)
  • 1 small bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup black olives, sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Italian dressing or olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking pan.

2️⃣ Layer the Ingredients

  • Roll out dough and press into the pan.
  • Layer meat, cheese, and veggies evenly on top.
  • Drizzle Italian dressing and sprinkle Italian seasoning.

3️⃣ Fold and Seal (Optional)

  • Fold edges of dough slightly over the filling to seal.
  • Brush top with beaten egg for a golden finish.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until dough is golden brown.
  • Let cool 5 minutes before cutting into squares.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Add banana peppers or pickles for tangy flavor.
  • Make mini versions using a muffin tin for bite-sized squares.
  • Serve with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.

If you want, I can make a shortcut 15-minute no-bake version of Italian sub squares using tortillas or flatbreads for an even faster snack.

Do you want me to do that?
