  • ½ cup milk

  • 200g cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp sour cream or yogurt (optional, for creamier texture)

1. Prepare the cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a pan
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
  4. Add eggs one by one, then vanilla
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until smooth
  6. Pour into pan and bake 25–30 min until golden and a toothpick comes out clean

2. Make the lemon cheese topping

  1. Beat cream cheese until smooth
  2. Add sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and sour cream/yogurt
  3. Mix until creamy and spreadable

3. Assemble

  • Once the cake cools slightly, spread the lemon cheese topping evenly
  • Chill for 30–60 minutes for best flavor and set
