no-bake chocolate haystacks

Posted on February 5, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a super-easy, no-bake chocolate haystacks recipe — crunchy, chewy, and perfect for quick desserts or holiday treats 🍫🌾

No-Bake Chocolate Haystacks

Ingredients (makes ~20)

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)
  • ½ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 3 cups cornflakes (or rice cereal for crunch)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional, balances sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate & Peanut Butter
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter.
    • Microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time until smooth.
    • Stir in vanilla and salt if using.
  2. Mix with Cereal
    • Pour the chocolate mixture over cornflakes.
    • Gently fold until all cereal is coated (don’t crush too much).
  3. Form Haystacks
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Spoon small mounds of the mixture onto the sheet.
  4. Chill
    • Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes until firm.
  5. Serve
    • Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Optional Variations

  • Add shredded coconut or mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkle with sea salt on top for a sweet-salty flavor
  • Use white chocolate for a festive look

These are perfect for kids, holiday parties, or a quick chocolate fix without turning on the oven.

If you want, I can give you a “healthier” no-bake version that still tastes indulgent but uses less sugar and more protein. Do you want me to do that?
