  • 1 bay leaf

  1. Coat the beef
    • Toss beef with flour, salt, and pepper
  2. Brown the meat

  4. Build the stew
    • Stir in tomato paste
    • Add beef broth, water, herbs, and bay leaf
  5. Simmer slowly

    • Add carrots and potatoes
