Posted on April 3, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious and hearty recipe for Oven-Baked Mushroom Swiss Steak Rolls—juicy beef rolled with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, perfect for dinner 🍽️✨

🥩 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 thin beef round or top round steaks
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Toothpicks or kitchen twine

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Beef

  • Pound the beef steaks lightly to flatten
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper

2. Make the Filling

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil
  • Sauté mushrooms, onions, and garlic until soft
  • Let cool slightly

3. Assemble the Rolls

  • Place a slice of Swiss cheese and a spoonful of the mushroom mixture on each steak
  • Roll the beef tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine

4. Sear the Rolls

  • In the same skillet, sear rolls on all sides until browned (optional but adds flavor)

5. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Place rolls in a baking dish
  • Pour beef broth around the rolls
  • Sprinkle thyme on top
  • Cover with foil and bake 30–40 minutes, until beef is tender

6. Serve

  • Remove toothpicks or twine
  • Spoon the pan juices over the rolls
  • Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or rice

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce to the broth
  • Let the rolls rest 5 minutes after baking before slicing
  • Can prepare a day ahead and bake when needed

Tender, cheesy, and full of savory mushroom flavor—these steak rolls feel gourmet but are surprisingly easy to make 😍

If you want, I can also give a slow-cooker version that makes the beef even more tender without searing.
