pan-fried halloumi cheese

Pan-fried halloumi cheese is crispy on the outside, soft and salty on the inside—super quick and delicious 😋


🧀 Pan-Fried Halloumi

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 block of halloumi cheese
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil (optional, halloumi has its own fat)
  • Optional: lemon juice, honey, black pepper, herbs

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Slice the cheese

  • Cut halloumi into ½-inch thick slices

2. Heat the pan

  • Use a non-stick or cast iron pan
  • Medium heat (no need for high heat)

3. Fry the halloumi

  • Add slices to the dry pan (or lightly oiled)
  • Cook 2–3 minutes per side
  • Flip when golden brown and crispy

4. Serve immediately

  • Best eaten hot while soft inside and crispy outside
