Here’s a fresh and easy Pico de Gallo recipe—the classic Mexican salsa that’s bright, tangy, and perfect for tacos, chips, or salads 🌶️🍅🧅

🍅 Pico de Gallo (Fresh Mexican Salsa)

Ingredients (makes about 2 cups)

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small white or red onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely chopped (adjust heat to taste)
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt, to taste

Optional:

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp ground cumin for a subtle smoky flavor

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients
    • In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  2. Add lime & salt
    • Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt.
    • Toss gently to combine.
  3. Rest & serve
    • Let sit 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
    • Serve fresh with tacos, grilled meats, eggs, or tortilla chips.

🌟 Tips & Variations

  • Extra tang: Add a splash of orange juice along with lime.
  • Milder version: Use fewer jalapeños or remove seeds.
