🥐 Puff Pastry

Puff Pastry is a light, flaky pastry made by layering dough and butter so that it “puffs” up when baked. It’s used in both sweet and savory recipes because of its delicate, crispy texture.

🧈 Basic Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup cold Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½–¾ cup cold Water

👩‍🍳 Simple Preparation Method

1️⃣ Mix the dough
Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Add cold water gradually and mix until a soft dough forms.

2️⃣ Add the butter layer
Roll out the dough and place a flattened sheet of cold butter in the center.

3️⃣ Fold and roll
Fold the dough over the butter and roll it out.
Fold it again like a letter and chill for 20 minutes.

4️⃣ Repeat the folds
Roll and fold the dough 4–6 times, chilling between folds.
This creates the many layers that make puff pastry rise.

5️⃣ Use or store
Roll out the pastry for recipes or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days (or freeze for longer).
