Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the sauce
    • In a bowl, mix cream of chicken soup and milk until smooth.
    • Stir in salt, pepper, and onions if using.
  3. Layer the potatoes
    • Arrange half of the potato slices in the baking dish.
    • Pour half of the soup mixture over the potatoes.
    • Sprinkle a little cheese if using.
    • Repeat with the remaining potatoes and soup mixture.
  4. Top and bake
    • Dot the top with butter and add remaining cheese.
    • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
  5. Serve
    • Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
